"Danger, Will Robinson! Danger!"
May. 29th, 2008 11:43 amI have my story Fifteen posted at ff.net (under the penname "Mysid") as well as here at LJ. At ff.net, the story has a rating of "T", equivalent to PG-13. "Fifteen" just received this review at ff.net:
I know this is not technically slash. but it does have mentions of it. I read you story halfway, then I stopped because that just not my thing.
I would really appreciate if you put mentions of slash warning in your summary.
And perhaps you could even write a non-slash version of this. I for 1 would love to see Sirius on his other adventures.
Till next time (hopefully)
Azer
My reply to Azer:
Mysid is the penname I use for slash stories, so you are probably better off not reading anything written by "Mysid". My older penname, JKLB, might have some stories you would like.
As for a putting a "slash warning" in the summary, I don't think it is necessary. I am more than willing to warn readers that a story is sexually explicit (if it is), but a T-rated story is a T-rated story whether the characters like someone of the same sex or the opposite sex.
Homosexuality is just as normal as heterosexuality, and I refuse to "warn" people about it. If you disagree, we will simply have to agree to disagree.
And my final comment--which I did not include--"Bitch."

Putting all my translations in one basket
Feb. 5th, 2008 03:25 pmI have been most fortunate in that several wonderful people have turned their time and talents to translating some of my fanfics into other languages, and I thought it might be a good idea to post an entry with links to all of them. The stories are arranged by the language they were translated into.

Dec. 21st, 2007 10:28 amMy gift for

Title: Just a Bit of Luck
Author: mysid
Rating: R
Summary: When Remus says that winning over the one you fancy requires "a lot of luck," Sirius decides that Felix Felicis may be the answer to winning over Remus.
A sample:
"You're staring; you must be thinking hard about something. Anything I can help with?" Remus glanced up again as he spoke, but only momentarily. He didn't seem to have any suspicion that he was the focus of Sirius's thoughts.
"No, I don't think so." Sirius smiled at the thought of asking Remus's help in planning his own seduction, but then, why not? "Actually..." Sirius pushed his books closer to Remus and shifted into the seat that James had abandoned in search of a better view of Evans—the pervy stalker. "May I ask you a hypothetical question?”
Please read!

"We all live in a yellow submarine..."
Jul. 6th, 2007 08:08 pm![]() | My Harry Potter Spoiler of Doom is: Hermione is killed by Remus Lupin in a submarine Get your Harry Potter Spoiler of Doom |
...and then Hermione jolted awake. Although she was relieved that it was just a dream, undoubtedly brought on by N.E.W.T. induced pressure (dropping out of Hogwarts is not an excuse to skip one's N.E.W.T.s), Hermione felt compelled to discover just what her dream meant. Forgoing her old copy of Dream Divination, Hermione went straight to a Muggle book, Dream Interpretation.
"Huh," she mused as she finished scanning the entry for 'submarine', "that's what I thought it would say. Must have been written by a Freudian."
And turning out the light, she found herself contemplating Professor Lupin's warm eyes.

Drabble: Caffeine of Choice
Jun. 7th, 2007 03:11 pmTitle: Caffeine of Choice
Author: mysid
Prompt: caffeine at
sirius_remus100
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
Disclaimer: All four belong to J.K. Rowling.
Caffeine of Choice
James and Peter were traditionalists. They liked their caffeine in the form of tea, thank you very much. Although James would occasionally add lemon and honey, Peter firmly preferred milk and sugar.
Sirius's new favourite was coffee. He said that tea was for society matrons, offered primarily so they could show off their family china and monogrammed silver. Coffee was for the young and rebellious, like the disillusioned American expatriates in a Muggle novel he'd read. (Remus suspected that Sirius simply enjoyed ordering it "strong, hot, and Black.")
Remus allowed his friends to argue while he savoured his hot chocolate.

FIC: Valentine's Day, 1969: Opportunity
Feb. 9th, 2007 01:37 pmThe Sirius Black and Remus Lupin Yahoo Group is currently having a Valentine's Day/Lupercalia challenge. FIC: Pretending to be Human
Jan. 3rd, 2007 01:40 pmA plotbunny hopped up to me and asked, "Why is Remus such a chocoholic in fanfiction? He never eats it in canon." I told the bunny that he was absolutely right. Remus merely has chocolate available on occasions when students are likely to encounter Dementors and require its medicinal properties. “Be prepared” is just as apt a motto for DADA professors as it is for Boy Scouts. (Peter, on the other hand— Ron tells us that Scabbers loves Fudge Flies.)
Which is not to imply that I dislike chocoholic-Remus. I love the stuff, so I find it believable that Remus might too. I simply thought it high time to write a story in which he doesn't care for it.
