Title: Just a Bit of Luck
Author: mysid
Rating: R
Summary: When Remus says that winning over the one you fancy requires "a lot of luck," Sirius decides that Felix Felicis may be the answer to winning over Remus.

A sample:
"You're staring; you must be thinking hard about something. Anything I can help with?" Remus glanced up again as he spoke, but only momentarily. He didn't seem to have any suspicion that he was the focus of Sirius's thoughts.

"No, I don't think so." Sirius smiled at the thought of asking Remus's help in planning his own seduction, but then, why not? "Actually..." Sirius pushed his books closer to Remus and shifted into the seat that James had abandoned in search of a better view of Evans—the pervy stalker. "May I ask you a hypothetical question?”

Title: Caffeine of Choice
Author: mysid
Prompt: caffeine at [livejournal.com profile] sirius_remus100
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
Disclaimer: All four belong to J.K. Rowling.

Caffeine of Choice

James and Peter were traditionalists. They liked their caffeine in the form of tea, thank you very much. Although James would occasionally add lemon and honey, Peter firmly preferred milk and sugar.

Sirius's new favourite was coffee. He said that tea was for society matrons, offered primarily so they could show off their family china and monogrammed silver. Coffee was for the young and rebellious, like the disillusioned American expatriates in a Muggle novel he'd read. (Remus suspected that Sirius simply enjoyed ordering it "strong, hot, and Black.")

Remus allowed his friends to argue while he savoured his hot chocolate.

This week's prompt at [livejournal.com profile] sirius_remus100 is exams. In my hands, the prompt resulted in first-kiss fluff.

I'm a contrary creature. Give me a prompt that calls out for angst, and I just might go for comedy. Written for [livejournal.com profile] sirius_remus100.

Thank you to all of you new participants at [livejournal.com profile] sirius_remus100. It's great to see you there. If you haven't joined yet, this week's prompt is "glass". Why don't try your hand at writing a drabble for the prompt?

For my newest drabble, I decided to delve into suspicion.

The Sirius Black and Remus Lupin Yahoo Group is currently having a Valentine's Day/Lupercalia challenge. The concept behind it is that significant events in Remus Lupin's life often take place on or near these holidays. Each prompt features a different year. I've accepted the first, 1969.

Title: Valentine's Day, 1969: Opportunity
Author: mysid
Prompt: February 1969—Remus learns that with a bit of luck, he might go to Hogwarts.

Disclaimer: Remus and his world belong to J.K. Rowling.

Author's Notes: Many thanks to my beta-reader, [livejournal.com profile] zevazo.

A plotbunny hopped up to me and asked, "Why is Remus such a chocoholic in fanfiction? He never eats it in canon." I told the bunny that he was absolutely right. Remus merely has chocolate available on occasions when students are likely to encounter Dementors and require its medicinal properties. “Be prepared” is just as apt a motto for DADA professors as it is for Boy Scouts. (Peter, on the other hand— Ron tells us that Scabbers loves Fudge Flies.)

Which is not to imply that I dislike chocoholic-Remus. I love the stuff, so I find it believable that Remus might too. I simply thought it high time to write a story in which he doesn't care for it.

This week's prompt at [livejournal.com profile] sirius_remus100 is "Severus Snape." Somehow, I wrote a drabble using the prompt without giving Snape a major role.

I decided to combat my writer's block by responding to a prompt over at [livejournal.com profile] sirius_remus100.

It's a tame little drabble, and you can read it here.
