Real life has been keeping me busy

...but mostly in good ways.
First, we went to Walt Disney World during "New Jersey Week.". The NJ teachers have a two day convention (Thursday and Friday) in early November, and so many people from NJ take advantage of the four day weekend to go to Disney off-season that I've heard the Disney folks call it "NJ Week." Based on my new personal experience, I'd say it's an appropriate name. This year, the convention fell during the same week as election day (which we also had off) so we spent an entire week there with my daughter only missing two days of school. (And before you ask, yes, I did vote by absentee ballot.)
This was my kids' first visit to Disney (and only my second). We had a wonderful time! We visited each of the four Disney parks at least once, plus spending a day at Universal. Our second night there was Halloween, so we went to "Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party." Almost everyone in the park (kids and adults alike) was in costume. We went to the Haunted Mansion that evening (of course). Scared the bejesus out of my younger daughter. "I'm never going on that again!"
We ended up hearing that phrase after quite a few rides/attraction, actually. I told her so many times, "This one won't be scary." I lied.
I don't have my photos back yet, but I'll post some soon.
As soon as we returned home, I had to get ready for my daughter's 8th birthday party. I'd wanted some sort of activity to fill the time, and my neighber had suggested a craft making pillows using polar fleece. (It doesn't fray, so it doesn't need to be sewn. I did sew the top and bottom beforehand to speed things up.) The girls closed one side by tying knots in the fringe I'd cut, stuffed the pillows closed, then tied the last side. They loved the stuffing part, and now they all have cute fuzzy pillows for their beds.
The one hitch in the plan: I need time pre-party to cut out the fabric, sew two sides of each pillow, and cut the fringe. (Plus clean the house, bake a cake, etc.) What was I doing when I should have been getting ready? I wrote a story for
sbrl_glovesmack instead. I was getting the last two pillows ready when the first guests arrived.
And now I'm getting ready for another hospital stay. My 8 year-old goes back into the hospital tomorrow for another endoscopy, a liver biosy, and an MRI. I'll be staying with her the whole time, and we'll be back home sometime on Saturday. My mother-in-law will take care of the twins during the day, and my husband will take care of them after work.
Before I go, I had to do laundry so the twins have clothes to wear, buy a gift for the baby shower I'm supposed to go to Saturday night, and various other random errands. Equally important--I had to update my LJ because I was going into withdrawl.

I recently visited a hospital for the first time in years (see my LJ if you want details) and, mildly speaking, it wasn't fun, so good luck to your daughter and I hope everything turns out well enough that these visits won't be frequent.

~(laughs) Sounds like something I'd do.~
