Sep. 30th, 2004 09:06 pmJust thought I should let you all know I'm still alive. And now, here is a day in the life of mysid:
-Woke up before the sun so I could go for a walk while hubby was still home and kiddies were all nestled in their beds.
-Arrived home in time to feed the little tykes breakfast. (Lucky Charms today!)
-Negotiated with 7 yr. old about the "right" outfit to wear for picture day and then escorted her to the bus stop.
-Kissed hubby good-bye and then showered, dressed, dressed the 4 yr. old twins.
-Took twins to swimming lessons. (Read a Brother Cadfael mystery while waiting. Should have worked on one of my WIP's, but I did multi-hours of that yesterday.)
-Made lunch--had to nag twins to eat, eat, eat!
-Ran out the door (5 minutes late) to go to Nursery School. Dropped off the tots and then went upstairs to the school library. Storytime! Read "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" to 3 classes and helped them check out books.
-Back home with twins. Spent an hour organizing Halloween costumes for the nursery school costume exchange. (My idea so I'm in charge of running it.)
-Took twins to choir practice. (Usually this is homework time for the 7 yr. old and I, but she had a Brownie meeting and wasn't home yet.)
-Home again, made dinner--which all kids pronounced "yucky". (Hubby picked up daughter from Brownies, took her to soccer practice, and they got home in time for dinner.)
-Homework time for daughter--mercifully light because we planned ahead and did some of tonight's homework last night.
-Kids in bed--hubby had to go back to work--I got computer. Boo-hoo, no Shoebox! Yea! First two chapters of Laocoon's Children Year 2!
-And, here I am.

Date: 2004-10-01 08:02 am (UTC)*perks up* What, what? Really? REALLY?! I'm desperately waiting for either one to be updated, so now I'm all excited. Yay!
Home again, made dinner--which all kids pronounced "yucky".
Aww! *laughs* That's why I'm never having kids. Or if I did, it's Ramen Noodles for them every night. They could just deal. (Erm, which means I'll never be a mom, because see how I would be?)
Boo-hoo, no Shoebox!
You know, I'm usually on edge about WIPs that are constantly being updated. I always couldn't wait for the day of the week (I think it was Wednesdays) when Barb would update her Psychic Serpent trilogy, and there was an NSYNC story that I followed religiously back in the day when it was on a "schedule."
But for some reason, Shoebox doesn't do that to me. I mean, the story's phenomenal, the writing is superb and original, and I love the story altogether. But it doesn't GRAB me and make me think about it all week in anticipation of Thursdays. So the announcement yesterday didn't upset (or surprise) me at all.
Er, I don't know why I'm saying all this. Just babbling, I guess. As usual. :D Your stories are updated on MM, by the way.

Date: 2004-10-01 05:42 pm (UTC)Every one of your bullets 'cept the last one mentioned your kids. What a devoted mom! Wait till they become teenagers =P
What is your occupation, exactly? Are you a housewife or is today just one of your days off? (My mom's "days off" are usually more chaotic than her work days!)
Oh, and by the way: Lucky Charms rules!
