Hubby and I made a quick trip up to Vermont for my cousin's wedding. (Bride was glowing with happiness, flowergirl took her job very seriously, and a good time was had by all.)

Random observations:

--The Thaddeus Kosiusko Bridge on the Adirondack Northway (in NY) has been my favorite bridge since I was a small child, and it is still my favorite bridge. Within my immediate family, it's referred to as "Jennifer's bridge".

--The Lakehouse Restaurant on Lake Bomoseen, VT not only has a great view from its dockside tables, but it also has killer fries.

--The Starway Cafe in Saugerties, NY has an Italiano Panini to die for, but the fries are pedestrian.

--The Basin Harbor Club in Vergennes, VT (site of the wedding reception) reminded my extended family of Kellerman's resort in the movie Dirty Dancing, but only in good ways.

--Find out before you go to a wedding if your new dress will permit you to wear a bra or not.

--My entire extended family wants my brother to propose to his girlfriend. I think they're right.

Hey, that bridge is right near our old house! I grew up on exit 10 of the Northway.

With typical kid class, we always called them the Dolly Parton bridges. :)

My parents are both from Vermont; we lived in New Jersey. Hence, we frequently traveled up to VT for one reason or another (Dad's National Guard duty, visiting relatives, vactions).

On every trip up, after several hours in the car, we'd round a corner and suddenly my bridge would come into view. Not only did it look really cool, but it would signify that the end of the journey was only an hour or two away.

Love the triangles.

I didn't mind my braless state, per se, it was the low-cut nature of the dress, combined with being braless, and combined with gusty winds that kept blowing the neckline open. Throughout the outdoor cocktail hour, I had to keep one hand on my chest at all times.

One of my cousins wore a dress just like the one Marilyn Monroe wore in The Seven Year Itch. (Different color, but otherwise the same.) And thanks to the wind, it behaved exactly like Marilyn's dress. (Whoops!)
