School Board Elections tomorrow

Our town (like other towns in NJ) is having school board elections tomorrow. I'm definitely going so I can vote on the school budget. Of course I'm voting "Yes." My kids will kill me if I don't; their teachers have done a good job of indoctrinating them. :)
As for the candidates: Seven people (no incumbents) are running for the three available spots. I knew nothing about any of them. So...I just spent the last half hour reading an on-line copy of the newspaper interviews they all did. All seven answered the same five questions in remarkably similar ways. The frustrating thing--the issues that I know are hot button issues in our town right now, none of the candidates addressed them directly! I picked up on certain phrases that I think are code words for these issues, but it isn't clear! Grrr.
Politicians. It's the bloody school board, none of these people have ever held public office before, and they're already acting like polished politicians!
