Paris and Pinwheels

mysidI just read a rather scathing (but quite funny) comment on Orlando Bloom's performance in Troy. Now I feel compelled to say: Yes, he was a vacuous pretty boy in the film, but he was playing a vacuous pretty boy. Doesn't that mean that he got it right?
As for real life, I invested $1 rather well yesterday. I purchased two sparkly pinwheels. My dividend, the enormous smiles on the faces of my four-year-old twins when they discovered that holding them in the breeze would make them spin. The fascination was short-lived, however. Pinwheels paled in importance compared to the neighbor's inflatable wading pool when we got home (90 degree day).
