I don't know what planet I was on, but it took me until last week to realize that new Doctor Who episodes are on the Sci Fi Channel. (Yes, I saw that many of you on my f-list were discussing the good Doctor, but I just assumed it was those of you not in the USA and those of you clever enough to find episodes on-line.) So--I recorded "The Doctor Dances" (wasn't home to watch) and just watched it yesterday.

Loved it! I'm hooked. One episode, and I'm hooked.

Not surprising. I liked the old Doctor Who epsiodes that PBS used to show, I love sci fi in general, I'm an Anglophile, AND this particular episode hit some of my other buttons. WWII! The slashy comments! Oh, yes, I'm hooked.

I recorded last night's episode, and I can't wait to watch it tonight.

P.S. A plotbunny just hopped on my desk. Jack--gorgeous Jack--implied that he'd made several visits to London during the Blitz. He's just begging for a crossover with The Charioteer, isn't he?

P.P.S. I just read that John Barrowman (he plays Jack) is openly gay; there are times I wish I were male. [Wipes drool off lower lip.]

I only got hooked on Doctor Who a few weeks ago, it is so much fun. "The Doctor Dances" spooked me so much, but I loved every second of it. I think it is my favourite episode.

Oooh yes! I'm an old Doctor Who fan and didn't get to see the new series until I visited Capella in London. She showed me the Captain Jack episodes and oh yes! Not only is he gorgeous and cocky, he's canonly bi. There are a couple of ohsofun interchanges between him and the Dr. (You'll have to buy me a drink first. I'll distract him.) Capella and I were in slash heaven. Plus I think this series is much better written, more tongue in cheek, playing more with popular culture, like the reality T.V. episode. I love the other characters too, Rose, Mickey, Rose's mum. And this Doctor, Christopher Eccleston is wonderful. Unfortunately, Friday nights at 9:00 seem to be a bad time for me to catch it. I'm just going to have to buy the DVDs.
Anyway, I'm sure you can see why there's been a lot of Dr./Captain Jack slash. It's begging for it.

Better late than never I believe is how the saying goes. I've corrupted everyone I know and they couldn't be happier.
