I don’t rec stories as often as I should—I do it very rarely, I must admit—but it’s not because I don’t find your stories brilliant. Rather, it’s that those who have friended me (and who else reads my LJ?) generally have friended each other as well. So most of the wonderful stuff I read here on LJ, you’ve probably discovered on your own.

Recently I seem to have come across numerous wonderful stories by authors whom I’ve never read before—some here on LJ, some elsewhere. I’ve tried to retrace my steps and find them all again so I can share them with you. With some of these authors, I found just one story that I really loved, and with others, I loved almost everything. I’m enclosing links to just one story from each author however. Once you read that one, if you like it, read more!

All ratings are those provided by the authors.

Alternate Moonlight by Julie Fortune
It’s R/S slash with the other R/S slash mixed in—and the Ministry of Magic being bastards to Remus throughout. Tense, poignant, hot. One chapter.
Rating: Adult

Bite to Break the Skin by [livejournal.com profile] obeetaybee
“Fenrir always extracts revenge against those who offend him.” One chapter.

The Dating Disasters of Sirius Black by KabeyK
KabeyK says, “For some reason unfathomable to Remus, Sirius always likes to tell him in excruciating detail about his various romantic problems. Not fluffy.” I say, as soon as I finished reading it, I went back to the beginning and reread it several times—it was that good. Eleven chapters.
Rating: R

Regulus on the verge of a choice and remembering other choices made. One chapter.

[livejournal.com profile] kabeyk also has a story on her journal called The Unconventional Way (http://www.livejournal.com/users/kabeyk/1024.html) I really liked reading that right after Dating Disasters... they were written close to the same time and you can really see how she played with similar ideas in different ways in both stories. Then again, I do like a lot of her stuff, so I might just be fangirling ;)

Some of the others you have here, I haven't read yet... and Oh, how I love you for that :D Guess what I'll be doing after work!

Did you see that there's a snippet of it on her journal somewhere... I don't remember how I found it, but it's there. And SO DAMN CUTE.

Oh, thanks for the recs! 'The Dating Disaster of Sirius Black' is just love. I've read it a couple of times also. :)

(Also, delurking myself as a long time fan of your writing, only I didn't know you had an LJ and I don't really trust ff.net. I heart your stuff like you've no idea, though. ^-^)

[blushes] Why, thank you!

Yeah, ff.net does seem to be getting worse. It's not that there are more bad writers (they've always been there), but more of the good writers seem to have given up on it. And yet, I still shift through the new stuff to see if there's anything worth reading. I still find an occasional diamond in the rough.

Yeah, they are there, all those good writers, and yet they're buried beneath the most awful things I've ever seen. *cough*Remy and Siry*cough*

I gave up on it too, a few months ago. XD I haven't regreted it, though, the people is just too awesome in here. :)
