I have my story Fifteen posted at ff.net (under the penname "Mysid") as well as here at LJ. At ff.net, the story has a rating of "T", equivalent to PG-13. "Fifteen" just received this review at ff.net:

I know this is not technically slash. but it does have mentions of it. I read you story halfway, then I stopped because that just not my thing.

I would really appreciate if you put mentions of slash warning in your summary.

And perhaps you could even write a non-slash version of this. I for 1 would love to see Sirius on his other adventures.

Mysid is the penname I use for slash stories, so you are probably better off not reading anything written by "Mysid". My older penname, JKLB, might have some stories you would like.

As for a putting a "slash warning" in the summary, I don't think it is necessary. I am more than willing to warn readers that a story is sexually explicit (if it is), but a T-rated story is a T-rated story whether the characters like someone of the same sex or the opposite sex.

Homosexuality is just as normal as heterosexuality, and I refuse to "warn" people about it. If you disagree, we will simply have to agree to disagree.

And my final comment--which I did not include--"Bitch."

Good for you - I would have said much the same.

I think it's about time I stopped using the word "slash" in headers and such, but I need to think about that a bit more.

The truth is, I don't mind seeing the word "Slash" in a heading or a summary. People use those both to find what they want to read as well as to weed out what they don't. (One person's squick is another person's kink!)

It was idea of "warning" people that there was slash in a story which rubbed my fur the wrong way.

Agreed - I wouldn't put slash in the warnings, but I would put it in the content just so that people could, as you say, weed out what they're not interested in. Although I'm debating even that because the Harry/Ron should tell them everything, without actually saying slash as well. If it wasn't slash I wouldn't put the slash mark in there. But as I say, I'm still considering that.

My warnings section is reserved for kinks and tea :-)

I so agree with you. That is just wrong to need to warn that two guys might like one another. If the fic is mature/adult then one might say one could choose to be considerate so people don't have to read explicit sexual material that does not interest them. But for a teen-rated fic, it is just pure homophobia to insist.
