I was chatting with a neighbor the other day, and the subject of fanfiction came up. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that she knew what it is, and that she had read some--not a lot, but some. I asked what site(s) she went to for fanfic.
She replied, "Fanfiction.net. Have you heard of it?"
"Yes. I used to read stuff there, but I rarely do now, because most of the stuff there is really bad."
She then asked where else to look. I told her that I found a lot on LiveJournal, but I was trying to think of specific recs to give her. With the exception of Harry Potter, she and I aren't in any of the same fandoms, as far as I know. I did give her one link address to try, so we'll see if she wants more recs in the future.
(I didn't tell her that I have stuff posted on ff.net!)
