So proud of Vermont!

Today I am SO of my Vermont roots. (Both of my parents are from Vermont and their families have deep roots there. Additionally, I lived there for two years and spend annual vacations there.)

If you're out of the loop, today Vermont joined the small (four) but growing ranks of US states that have legalized same-sex marriage, AND it was the first state to pass a law to make it legal (rather than having the judiciary say it was unconstitutional not to extend marriage to same-sex couples).

My Vermont. It was the first US state to permit civil unions and now this. [Grins.]
