The Sirius Black and Remus Lupin Yahoo Group is currently having a Valentine's Day/Lupercalia challenge. The concept behind it is that significant events in Remus Lupin's life often take place on or near these holidays. Each prompt features a different year. I've accepted the first, 1969.

Rec--Wrightsville: Long Ago and Far Away

This is a rec for anyone who enjoys reading mysteries. The brilliant Laura Mason, lorie945, spent NaNo month writing a novel-length fanfic crossing--wait for it--The Charioteer (my favorite book) and Ellery Queen mystery novels.

You don't need to have read any Ellery Queen to enjoy this (I haven't), nor do you need to have read The Charioteer. (But if you haven't yet, why haven't you?) You'll catch on to the characters quickly enough.
