After reading prodigious amounts of Aziraphale/Crowley online, it was only a matter of time before I went in search of Good Omens in a bookstore. Read it in two sittings; much laughing out loud was involved.
I think my favorite bit was when the authors say that although Aziraphale seems "gayer than a tree full of monkeys on nitrous oxide," that "angels are sexless unless they really want to make an effort." Why, of all the hilarious moments was this my favorite? Becuase I could immediately imagine Crowley murmurring (hissing?) in his ear, "C'mon, Angel, make an effort." Of course, I did read that line in one or more of your fanfics, so my imagination earns zero points for originality.
So, all of you Good Omens fanfic writers out there, thank you for introducing me to a wonderful book I might have missed otherwise.
Patience is George Michael's new CD. I asked dh to get it for me for Christmas but he couldn't find it (gave me a gift card instead so I could buy it).
Love it! I think I like it so much because he seems so very happy to be out. At least, he seems blissfully happy with his new boyfriend and thrilled that he can say so. There's a photo of the boyfriend--great smile. As Geroge says in the liner notes, "I'm a lucky bastard these days, and I know it..." (I loved Faith, but it's full of sadness and hopelessness.)
My three favorite songs on the album: "Amazing" and "American Angel", both about how lucky he was to fall in love again after his lover died of AIDS, and "My Mother Had a Brother" about his uncle who committed suicide because he was gay.
