A neighbor, upon learning that my daughter had never read Twilight, loaned her a copy. Daughter read it, but didn't like it enough to read the rest of the series. After skimming through the book and seeing what a worthless waste of space its passive "heroine"* was, and reading in numerous articles that the series was anti-feminist and Mormon-theology driven, I was glad that she didn't like it.
This article, Bite Me! (or Don't) by Christine Seifert, sums up some of my objections to the series quite well.
*Can we call her a heroine if she doesn't do anything heroic? Give me Hermione Granger over Bella Swan any day.
