The Silver Lining of Being Sick
Yes, I am still sick and still housebound. (I can walk in an almost straight line, but I'm still too dizzy to drive a car. There is an upside to being stuck in the house--and for the most part stuck in bed--I've been spending a lot of time on-line guilt free.
While I was trolling ff.net for any hidden treasure, I discovered a FAKE fanfic that's actually very, very good. (Remember FAKE? Anyone? Dead sexy black-haired cop pursuing and eventually winning his shy brown-haired partner--Sirius and Remus in manga disguise! That's them in the little icon. Say, "Hi," boys. Oh--sorry--they're too busy.)
Anyway--A New Day by
brit_columbia is a multi-chapter fanfic set just after the end of the manga series. It's Dee and Ryo coming to terms with their new relationship, Ryo coming to terms with finally admitting he is gay, both of them (and others) dealing with homophobia, and an actual case they need to solve/prove. (Not like the psuedo-detective work they often did between snogs in the manga.)
The story's not finished yet, but the author is adding new chapters steadily and seems to have a strong grasp of exactly where the story is going, so no fear of being left hanging. So, if you read FAKE, go read A New Day.

Basically, I decided that I didn't care for FAKE that much, but I liked FAKE fanfic very much. It tended to be better written than the original canon.

All of my chapters are now tagged, thanks to you. I feel that I'm now one rung higher on the low-tech ladder than I was yesterday.

I don't write recommendations very often. Anything worth reading on my friend's list has probably been read by everyone on my friend's list. However, since most of friend's list has moved on from FAKE to other interests, I thought it very likely that your story would never come to their attention if I didn't point it out, and that would have been a shame. Your story is too good to be overlooked.

So, thank you! And I hope that your health condition rights itself soon and that walls stop lurching out to attack you.

And--good news--
I should make a David/Callan icon.

And the sequel! I'm so happy! I learned about that from a comment the author made on your journal, and now I can't wait until I can get my hands on it.
A David/Callan icon? Yes, you definitely should!

I'll definitely read this story. Thanks for the link. And hope you feel much better soon.

Yes, do read the story; it's very good.
Thanks--I'm getting sick and tired of being sick and tired.
