One of my daughters has a very common name, and the other has very rare one. I went both ways. LOL > Lol. A few people in my family (including my little brother) have original names, maybe that's why I like them. Also, I'm tired that a lot of my male friends are named Julien. I know 11 Juliens ! In France should you scream "Julien" in a street, you can be sure to have a several people answering you. ^^; (I guess it's like John or Jack in English)
Didn't the French government pass a law limiting baby names to saints' names or names associated with French history? I remember reading about the uproar over that law. > Well, not that I heard of, and I'm pretty sure that if this law was discussed, it never passed. But that's true that we are not allowed to give children completely invented names, like video games characters names or such. But even that, I believe it depends of the case.
