A mind of her own

Outfit I chose for my five-year-old to wear to school today: a turtleneck shirt with bright primary-colored ladybugs and pants in one of those colors. Outfit she selected to wear instead: same turtleneck with lavender capri pants. Why? The capri pants have tiny pink ladybugs on them. "Bugs go with bugs."

Yesterday she insisted on a bright red shirt with maroon pants. "They don't go together, Sweetie." "Yes they do, Mommy. They're both red."

Her teacher must think I'm color-blind.

I'm sure teachers understand. *g* When I was in pre-K, I insisted on wearing party dresses to school every day. I wore these frilly pink dresses, which really weren't ideal for painting in, or playing in the sandbox. Mom couldn't talk me out of it though, and my teachers took it in stride.

Aww, "bugs go with bugs." That's so cute!

I'm sure other parents have the same problem. I doubt the teacher's surprised. :)

Bugs DO go with bugs!

I still dress like that.
